Morrisville, Pa.-based Brightsmith LLC announced Tim Day has joined the company as vice president and general manager. Day joins Tiffany Hutcheson, assistant general manager, in leading the coil coating operations of Brightsmith, as well as the post-painting operations in Trenton, N.J.

Prior to joining Brightsmith, Day spent the last eight years in a variety of positions at Canam Group (Canam Steel Corp.) in South Plainfield, N.J., most recently serving as senior vice president of operations. After college, Day worked at Summit, N.J.-based Bouras Industries Inc., a manufacturer of siding, roofing, steel joists, decking and coil coating. He also managed the steel joist and deck operations for Irving, Texas-based Commercial Metals Co. before going to work at Canam.

“Brightsmith and the Bus family have a strong reputation for quality and service,” Day said. “I want to be part of that culture and help grow the Brightsmith business. Building on the foundation of offering quality, flexibility and value to our customers, we want to grow our customer base and continue the process of making Brightsmith a world-class coil coating and post-painting company.”

The post-painting facility of Brightsmith coaters is led by Keith Schultz, plant manager. Tony Bus, product and process manager, assists in the daily operations and continuous improvements to the post-painting process. Day will help oversee the facility in Trenton, and exploring ways to grow their offering of painting services to a wide variety of customers.

Jim Bus, president at Brightsmith, said, “We have known [Day] for a number of years, and with his management experience, we thought that he would be a great addition to our leadership team as our business continues to expand. [Day] has a lot of firsthand experience in what we have to offer our customers, and that will be valuable in identifying ways that we can improve and grow in the future.”
