Verona, Wis.-based Coated Metals Group (CMG) released a statement to inform its customers of changes to its operations and sales procedures due to safety concerns related to the novel coronavirus.

The company’s sales employees ceased out-of-office sales visits. Visitors at CMG’s facilities are remaining in designated areas or their vehicles. As much communication as possible is being conducted via phone, text messages and email. CMG is encouraging customers to call in orders prior to arriving for order pickups in the interest of further reducing in-person interactions. Vendors can contact CMG for phone appointments, and in-person meetings at the company’s offices ceased until further notice.

Gary Woodward, president at CMG, stated, “Coated Metals Group realizes you may have concerns about our ability to fill your orders and maintain our overall supply chain. We do not foresee significant interruption of our supply chain of incoming material, nor the providing of materials to customers, unless in situations of force majeure.

“We will still be making deliveries, have personnel on site for customer pick-ups at our facilities and receiving incoming material. We have instructed delivery drivers to remain outside facilities once notifying customers of their presence. Our individual location warehouse employees have been instructed to load and unload material with a reduced interaction until further notice.”
