Tom Hulsey recently retired from his position as vice president of engineering at Tyler, Texas-based Sealtite Building Fasteners. Having worked in the metal building and fastener industry for over 40 years, he has helped develop and grow the metal and post frame building industry. He has been a driving force in the fastener evolution from nails, tappers, to self-drillers. He has gained and shared extensive knowledge of metallurgy, coatings, processes and applications from his employment at Sealtite, Varco-Pruden and Construction Fasteners Inc. He was awarded several patents and his breadth of knowledge has proven to be a true resource for the industry.
