The Roofing Alliance, foundation of the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA), announced winners of its Construction Management Student Competition. Best of the Best Award and the Gold Circle Award winners were recognized at NRCA’s awards ceremony Feb. 5.

Five finalist teams gave presentations as the final stage of the sixth annual Roofing Alliance Construction Management Student Competition. The teams presented their proposals for installing a new roof system on the Ford Center, the practice facility of the Dallas Cowboys, originally installed by Dallas-based KPost Roofing and Waterproofing, to a panel of roofing industry experts. The presentation scores were combined with written proposal scores to determine the winning team.

The student team from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, was the winning school, and Samuel Short, of Auburn University, Auburn, Ala., won Best Individual Presenter.

Todd Dunlap won the Best of the Best award. Dunlap was an MVP winner of Outstanding On-the-Job Performance and Workmanship, and a finalist for Other Noteworthy Contributions Outside the Work Place. Dunlap is superintendent, warehouse operator, foreman and equipment operator at Frost Roofing, Wapakoneta, Ohio.
