Atlas Roofing has announced the introduction of a superior new roof underlayment designed for tile, slate, and metal roofing applications, adding to their array of leading residential and commercial building materials. WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE, a high temperature, self-adhering underlayment is the solution when quality and lifespan of a tile, slate, and metal roofing system is important.

WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE Peel & Stick SBS Reinforced Underlayment is a self-adhesive tile roof underlayment produced with a blend of modified asphalt and woven polyester. Its polyester top surface bonds with all foam adhesives used in roof tile installation and will hold up well under stacked tiles without slippage or damage to the membrane surface.

Each 3- x 72-foot roll of WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE can cover 200 square feet of roof deck. It has a 3-inch-wide selvage edge to create a waterproof bond with the succeeding course while providing an alignment guide for the next course.

Because safety matters are so important, WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE was designed to give roofers excellent traction during installation of a tile, slate, or metal roof system. Its hard polyester face offers solid traction and durability and when this peel and stick underlayment is properly installed, no special adhesives, heat, or equipment are necessary. With a 60 MIL thickness, WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE can withstand very high temperatures; in fact, it has a 260 F melting point.

The toughness of WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE Peel & Stick SBS Reinforced Underlayment is also proven by its long exposure rating of 180 days. That is very important, as it’s almost impossible to predict the events that cause construction delays.

Choosing the proper underlayment impacts the quality and lifespan of the roofing system. Find out why WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE is a smart choice for tile, slate, and metal roofs. For more information about WeatherMaster TU Ultra SE, please contact your Atlas sales representative or visit
