shelvin herron, englert inc., new hire, metal construction news, daily newsShelvin Herron has joined Englert Inc. as facilities and engineering manager where he will be responsible for all equipment, systems, and buildings at the company.

Herron joins Englert from John Bean Technologies Corporation where he worked for four years as a field engineer in Dubai on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf, providing training and service for the integration of laser-guided vehicles used in warehousing in private industry. Prior to that, he worked for 10 years in the electrical engineering department at Northrop Grumman Technical Services in Virginia on electronic equipment used on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and submarines.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Hampton University in Virginia. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, most of that time at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia working on systems administration. He left the service with the rank of staff sergeant. Shelvin grew up in Somerset, New Jersey where he attended Franklin High School and played varsity basketball and ran the 400 meter dash and the 400 meter hurdles in track.
